Course Description:

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation - HLTAID001 
Provide basic emergency life support - HLTAID002 
Provide first aid - HLTAID003 

*Please note, it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.

LOCATION: North Palm Beach Clubhouse

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 15 from Palm Beach, 5 from North Palm Beach
COST:  $70.00 per person (GST Free)
PRE-COURSE WORK: Pre-course Quiz – only for Full course participants.
This course requires all participants (attending a full course) to complete an online or hardcopy pre-course quiz.  
To receive a log in to this pre-course quiz online I just require the participant’s first name, last name and email address. Please find attached an excel spreadsheet to fill in so I can set them up with their individual log in.  
 
If you would like the Hardcopy version of the quiz please let me know.
 
Provide First Aid Full Course – participant does not hold a current HLTAID003 certificate or has an expired certificate on the training day.
Provide First Aid Update Course – participant holds a current HLTAID003 certificate on the training day.

Surf Life Saving NSW is committed to supporting Environmental Sustainability and we have elected to issue electronic certificates instead of hard copy certificates.  
If you require a Hard Copy version please request this via reply email.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:    

  • All participants must bring ID (Passport, Drivers License, Proof of Age Card or Birth Certificate).
  • All participants must bring a pen and paper
  • All participants must bring their Unique Student Identifier (USI) to the course
  • Prior to training course participants should familiarise themselves with the Academy Course Participant Handbook which includes the Participant Code of Conduct and information about the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).  The handbook is available at https://www.surflifesaving.com.au/downloads/slsnsw-academy-participant-handbook



** IMPORTANT PRE-COURSE REQUIREMENT– Unique Student Identifier (USI) ** 
Surf Life Saving NSW cannot issue participants with a Nationally Recognised VET qualification or Statement of Attainment when they complete the course if they do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). 
Please ensure that all participants bring their USI to the course as they will need to include this on their Training Enrolment Form.
If participants do not yet have a USI, they can apply for one directly at https://www.usi.gov.au/your-usi/create-usi from a computer or mobile device. Forgotten USI’s can also be retrieved from this webpage.

Room Requirements
In regards to room requirements for any onsite course, the trainer will need access to power, a projector and screen. If you do not have a projector and screen, please let us know so we can provide our own. The room will need to be big enough to fit all participants, have enough floor space for the participants to practice CPR on our manikins, and should have tables and chairs in the room (set up in a U-shape if possible).
 
Work Health and Safety (WHS) Requirements
By accepting this booking you recognise and consent that it is your responsibility to ensure the health and safety of our trainers so far as reasonably practicable while in your workplace. You also declare that any training venue you provide is a safe and healthy work environment and our staff will be provided with any required or appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, WHS induction and related instructions to ensure their continued safety whilst on your premises.
 
Cancellation Policy
An application for refund of course fees must be made in writing to Surf Life Saving NSW (Training Division). Where cancellation is made less than five (5) working days prior to the commencement of a course, 50% of the course fees will be charged. Participants who leave before finishing the course or do not commence their course without submitting a written refund request will be charged the full course fees. Please consult the Academy Handbook for the full Refund Policy.

SLSNSW is NOT a CRICOS Provider
SLSNSW is not a registered Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) provider and therefore we are unable to offer courses to overseas students studying in Australia on student visas.
An overseas student is defined in Section 5 of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 as a person (whether inside or outside Australia) who holds a student visa (as defined in regulation 1.03 of the Migration Regulations 1994).
