Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) is one of the most recognisable and iconic brands in Australia, the ‘Red & Yellow’ patrol caps are seen on every beach in Australia from October through to April when the volunteers patrol Australia’s coast. The largest part of the movement is in Competition with close to 10 000 competitors competing in the National Titles that are held every year in April. An interesting fact is that the SLSA National Titles are the largest Annual Sporting event conducted in the Southern Hemisphere on a yearly basis!
Of the SLSA National Titles, the largest section is that of the Surfboats, with nearly a third of all competitors coming from this section. Surfboats have 4 Rowers and a Sweep and is contested in the following divisions:
