Mandatory prerequisite entry award for all Palm Beach SLSC Members. Also mandatory prerequisite Gold Medallion, Beach Mgmt and RWC accreditation.

First Aid Award (HLTAID003) provides the skills needed to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support. Once completed, participants will obtain a Workcover-Approved first aid certificate. Certificate is valid for three years, the CPR component (HLTAID001) needs to be revalidated annually.

Provide First Aid award is the principal award that provides:

• Legal Issues and Infection control
• DRSABCD action plan
• The principles of first aid and its applications
• Recognition and management of emergency situations
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation
• Treatment of shock, infection, fractures, bleeding and burns
• Emergencies due to lack of oxygen, excess heat or cold
• Recognition and management of medical conditions that may need emergency care, including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy

An online pre-course quiz MUST be completed prior to joining the course. Participants will be provided with the link beforehand.

Minimum numbers apply for this course. Course will only go ahead with 10+ participants. This course is run by SLS NSW and charged at-cost to Palm Beach Members.
